Proactive not Reactive

I believe that everyone chooses how to approach life. If you’re proactive, you focus on preparing. If you’re reactive, you end up focusing on repairing.

~ John C. Maxwell, Today Matters

We have all heard a lot about being proactive, especially in business. However, a sector where this has failed to penetrate past a certain level is client service, particularly when it comes to the quality of your connectivity and Internet service.

The industry standard has remained reactively mundane and has changed little since the age of the dial-up. In fact, it almost seems as if there was an ironic ‘who’s the slowest’ competition; your connection quality or your service provider.

At Zinia our approach to client service is a competitive one. We love being first so much so that we call you before you experience any glitch in service. While some of you may think that we are feeding you a line (no pun intended) let’s walk through the Zinia’s proactive client service philosophy.

  1. It’s about your ability to do business. If Zinia hampers our client’s ability to make money we are not doing our job, business is about bottom lines. A direct line of communication needs to be established. No broken telephones, no lengthy login processes, no middlemen.
  2. It’s about war room planning. We need proactive preparation that troubleshoots even the most harebrained scenario. Denial of Service (DoS) attacks are on the rise and are becoming more sustainable, for example the longest attack in 2016 lasted 292 hours, that’s just over 12 days of impaired service. Once we consider these issues proactive monitoring not only is a smart customer service idea, it also protects profits by keeping productivity steady.
  3. Nothing is possible without the right technology. Without the right technology in place, proactive anything won’t happen. You can’t race with a flat tyre. Zinia deploys a number of various software and hardware solutions that enable our company direct insight into the status of your connection. The use of PRTG, a powerful network monitoring system lets Zinia actively sustain and assess the status of your network. Aiding this is the use of our MikroTik routers. These routers allow for direct contact with your sever room and feedback any system/service threat before your IT Manager is even aware of a ‘pending doom’ situation.

Cloud-First vs. Cloud-Only: Choosing the Right Strategy

Cloud adoption strategies vary based on organisational goals, existing infrastructure, and specific business requirements. Two common approaches are “Cloud-First” and “Cloud-Only.” Understanding the pros and cons of each is key, as well as exploring when it makes sense to select one over the other or opt for a hybrid approach.
